Caitlin & John

Usually when I'm shooting a wedding and that 8th or 9th hour comes along I can't wait to get in my car, walk in my apartment, roll on the living room floor with my dog, jump on the bed, kiss my wife goodnight and fall asleep. This time around things were a little bit different. I was actually so bummed when the wedding was over! I have only met Caitlin & John a total of three times but I have talked to Caitlin many times over the Internet. Facebook anyone?! Ever since we met for their engagement session I could not wait to shoot the big day! They got married at the Branford House in Groton, CT which is near the Mystic Seaport. GORGEOUS VENUE! It's basically a massive mansion with a beautiful lawn right on the ocean (overlooking Long Island Sound to be exact) Linette joined me on this adventure and took some amazing pictures! I just love it when she comes with me! :) We started the day at the Mystic Marriott where both Caitlin & John got ready in separate rooms. We then headed over to the Branford House where I basically had to jump out of the car while it was still rolling since we got a little bit lost on the way over and then on top of it hit some wonderful construction traffic on the main highway. The ceremony was beautiful! They even had a really great woman playing the harp off to the side which definitely added to the atmosphere. The reception was just as great and the DJ had everyone dancing the entire night away. I got to work with some really great vendors including: Mike Connolly DJ (A+) Inspiration In Motion Videography (A+) and Lynda from Details Wedding & Party Planning (A+) If you are in the CT area or even Massachusetts I highly recommend checking them out! I cannot wait to finish up these images for Caitlin and I'm excited that we are making three albums for her! I hope to see the both of them again in the future! Stay tuned for more updates...

Carolyn & Aaron

On Saturday the 15th I had the pleasure of shooting Carolyn & Aaron's wedding. They got married in Somerset, MA underneath a beautiful tent right by the water with 250 guests attending. I have never met Carolyn before the big day so I was anxious to finally meet her and get to know the both of them a little better. From the looks of the decorations I can tell that both families are big sports fans. Just about everything underneath the tent had to do with either the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics or the Bruins! The weather was perfect! A little on the humid side but cooled off perfectly once the sun started to go down. The food was terrific! You had your choice of a complete lobster or marinated steak tips. The DJ quickly got the party started after dinner and had just about everyone on the dance floor for the entire evening. It's definitely a workout when you are shooting a wedding with so many guests but I couldn't be happier with how the images turned out. Both families were wonderful to me and I can't thank them enough for their kindness. I'm excited for Carolyn & Aaron to see the final product once they return home from their honeymoon! Stay tuned for more posts coming up in the next few days...

Brianna & Tavar

What do you get when you have perfect weather, a venue with a beautiful view and a great family? You get the wedding of Brianna & Tavar. I met the newlyweds at their home last winter and I've been looking forward to their big day ever since! They got married at the Elks Lodge in Gloucester, MA on Atlantic Road. If you are looking for a venue with a gorgeous view of the ocean I highly recommend checking out the Elks Lodge! I started the day with Brianna in the bridal suite right above the reception hall. The lighting was perfect in the suite and we got some really neat getting ready shots! There was a minor speed bump involving the cake but that was fixed in no time by one of her wonderful bridesmaids. The ceremony was held just outside the ballroom overlooking the ocean. After the "perfect" ceremony we took some great shots across the street on the rocks right by the water. The reception was also beautiful and the food was terrific. I had such a great time with Brianna & Tavar and I wish them both a long and happy marriage! I'm really excited to get their wedding album made for them! Stay tuned for more blog updates coming soon...

Steve & Susanne

Last Thursday I shot a gorgeous wedding at the Turner Hill Mansion in Ipswich, MA. Steve & Susanne booked with me back in February and I've been really looking forward to their wedding ever since. They are such an amazing couple to be around and I really had a great time getting to know everybody in their family. As I said above the ceremony and reception were held at the Turner Hill Mansion. GORGEOUS VENUE! GORGEOUS GOLF COURSE! If you are still seeking a venue I definitely recommend taking a look at this place. The ceremony was held outside in a little courtyard a few steps away from the main ballroom. A very light drizzly rain began to fall during the ceremony but that didn't seem to bother anybody. I personally think it added to the ceremony and made for a more romantic feel. After the ceremony the weather cleared right up and the happy couple even had their first dance outside on the patio. We really took advantage of the mansion and went into almost every room to get pictures done! I'm really excited for Steve & Susanne to see the final product! Stay tuned for more entries coming shortly...

Kana & John - Engaged!

Wrapping up the weekend I had an awesome engagement session with Kana & John. This session was supposed to happen last weekend but we had to reschedule due to crappy weather. Of course the weather wasn't looking good for this session either but ended up being just perfect! It wasn't hot and we had an overcast day which acted like a giant studio lighting kit. We shot in and around the Theatre District in downtown Boston. I really liked shooting at this location because of the awesome street lighting and unique backdrops. After that we headed over to the Boston Common where John proposed to Kana last winter. We had such a great time together and I'm excited to shoot their wedding coming up next month! Stay tuned for more pictures of Kana & John coming soon... The weekend is finally over but another busy week is on the horizon. I have a wedding on Thursday, Friday and Saturday! Hopefully I'll be still alive come Sunday!
